Subscribe to the Marxist Left Review

The Marxist Left Review is a peer-reviewed theoretical journal published twice yearly by Socialist Alternative, a revolutionary organisation based in Australia. We aim to engage with theoretical and political debates on the Australian and international left, making a rigorous yet accessible case for Marxist politics. We also seek to provide analysis of the social, political and economic dynamics shaping Australian and global capitalism. In the face of multiple global crises, we’re doing our best to continue publishing socialist theory and history that can help to make sense of a rapidly changing world.

The annual subscription fee of $30 (concession) and $40 (solidarity) includes all postage costs to locations in Australia. Please indicate if you would prefer not to receive a print copy or live overseas, in which case we will send you electronic versions of each edition as soon as they’re available.

Purchase an ebook of 'Introducing Marxism'

For modern readers, the 'Communist Manifesto' can be difficult to grapple with as a first text. Enter Tom Bramble, who wrote this book to introduce the basic concepts of Marxism in an accessible and clear manner. It draws on contemporary Australian examples of political and economic life, to construct a savage critique of capitalism, while also dealing with controversial issues on the far left such as reform and revolution, the roots of women’s oppression, and the Russian Revolution.
